Queer Families of Portland…GATHER!
I started QKC to provide a regular connection space for queer parents and their young kids to gather and build community in Portland through mutual care.Gatherings are held (most) every month with rotating times and locations. Check below or on Instagram for updates.Come connect with other queer parents over a shared intro prompt, and maybe leave with a playdate on the books!

North Portland Library, 512 N Killingsworth St.,Community Room
We can't WAIT to be back with the amazing folx at Multnomah County Public Library for a special Rainbow Family Storytime! We'll have snacks and bevs as usual, some art activities, and make sure to arrive by 2:15 for queer book readings, songs, and dances for the whole fam. Come celebrate each other, queer culture, and the magical community resource that is the library!

Irving Park Playground, NE PDX
Hooray!! Sunny season is here in Portland and we are heading outside to hang at the cute and multi-age accessible Irving Park in NE Portland. We’ll have bubbles, some little outdoor games, snacks, bevs (including coffee), a baby zone, and a resource table. Bring a chair or blanket if you like and chill with the coolest queer fams in town. This park has a SPLASH PAD too, so prepare if that's your kiddo's joy!Our buddy Aline from Peaceful Nest Postpartum Care will be there sharing info about free doula care through OHP and lending a generous hand! If you’re expecting and curious, come on down and learn more. Teaming up with Family Friend again to offer a connective conversation about pro-justice parenting using the guide from Threads of Justice Collective. Come engage in some essential values and advocacy discussion while the kids keep occupied in the big studio. March 14th, 9:30-11:30am

We’re so excited to connect in this wonderful space that is so kindly being offered by amazing small biz Second Shapes Bookstore, who really align with QKC’s values! We’ll meet in the community room and it’ll be baby and kid-friendly environment, so come on out and enjoy some snacks and coffee (or a juicebox ;) ) and feel the sparks of community fly! Multnomah County Library- Albina, Comm. Room 1A
To start the year off right we’re teaming up with our buds over at Family Friend. and Multnomah County Public Library’s Rainbow Family Storytime crew for queer-centered children’s book readings, songs, and book giveaway! We’re also holding a BOOK SWAP, so bring those kid and adult books collecting dust on the shelf and stack up your own storytime stash.
We are completely volunteer-run community care collective. We need your support to sustain our queer family gatherings and expand our offerings!
