Queer Kin Collective

Queer Families of Portland…GATHER!

I started QKC to provide a regular connection space for queer families of Portland to gather and build community through mutual care.
Gatherings are the first Saturday of each month with rotating times and locations. Check below or on Instagram for updates!
Come, eat snacks, chat with other queer parents, connect over a shared intro prompt, and maybe even leave with a playdate on the books (for kids or adults )

Ready Set GROW in NE

Teaming up with Family Friend again to offer a connective conversation about pro-justice parenting using the guide from Threads of Justice Collective. Come engage while the kids keep occupied in the big studio.

To start the year off right we’re teaming up with our buds over at Family Friend. and Multnomah County Public Library’s Rainbow Family Storytime crew for queer-centered children’s book readings, songs, and book giveaway! We’re also holding a BOOK SWAP, so bring those kid and adult books collecting dust on the shelf and stack up your own storytime stash.

This month we’re making collaborative PROTEST ART and signs! For your porch, your window, your next rally, and more- come use your voices, big and little, make your mark, and say it proud (as we queers do). We’ll also have buttons, zines, and a petition for Equal Rights For All Oregon.

December 6th, 3-6pm

Ready Set GROW, 5433 NE 30th Ave PDX

This giving season we’re shifting the capitalist narrative, and feeding each other and our community in need! This is a POTLUCK EDITION as well, so bring a small, easy something to share if you are able, and if what you’re able to do is show up hungry— come and eat! We’ll have a shelf-stable food donation station for local org Urban Gleaners to distribute at their free food markets all over town. Donate all month long at Ready Set Grow as well!

We are completely volunteer-run community care collective. We need your support to sustain our queer family gatherings and expand our offerings!
